Back for another 25…
Blueridge Good Neighbour Day 2026: A New Chapter Begins
After 25 incredible years, we have closed one chapter of Blueridge Good Neighbour Day (BGND). This spring, we are enthusiastically beginning a new one, and it will take the support and action of our community to bring it to life.
In May 2025, a long list of dedicated and passionate volunteers hosted the 25th annual event, what was believed to be the final BGND. Many of these individuals have since stepped away after years of commitment, and we are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and heart they poured into this treasured tradition.

We are excited to share that a new co-chair team (Greg Harper and Jen Dickson) have stepped forward, and planning meetings are in full swing to ensure BGND will continue and evolve. This event has always belonged to the community and it still does. We are confirmed for Sunday, May 31, 2026 for this year’s event – so mark your calendars!
It was recently brought to our attention that some newer families and younger community members have wondered, “Doesn’t the school run this?” The answer is no, it’s us, it’s the people who live and grow here. From young children and teens to new parents, single parents, grandparents, and long-time neighbours. BGND is powered by this community.
As we look ahead, we want to hear from you.
To help shape the future of Blueridge Good Neighbour Day, please take a moment to complete our short community survey. What’s working? What’s missing? What would you love to see? Be honest. Be creative. Be involved.
Thank you for helping write the next chapter.
